Why Earth Mama? – My Personal Note
I became familiar with Earth Mama products during my first pregnancy after a friend recommended it. I was curious, and even a little hesitant, to test such organic products in that price range. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. The instructions of the products were super helpful and clear for a new mom-to-be—which is a godsend during such a confusing time. For that reason, Earth Mama gets a thumbs up in my book.
Before I delve into my experience, I’d like to make a short disclaimer. Yes, this post has affiliate links, but this post is a personal recommendation from my experience with their products both during, and after, two pregnancies. In other words, I mean what I say when I tell you that Earth Mama products are fantastic.
One more stop on the way to the reviews. Before you read all about my adoration for this company, let’s learn a bit about it first. It’s important to know the company behind the products you buy, especially when it involves your precious little bean.
So, Who is Earth Mama Company?
It’s a company that was started by the original Earth Mama—Melinda Olson. She developed the company on the beliefs that our bodies are sacred and deserve to be treated as thus. Earth Mama ensures that the products are all organic and safe, as another core belief is that “nature is our pharmacy.” The thing I love about this company is that they really do put family first. Their main goal is to create products that are safe and soothing for everyone.
Now that you know a bit about the company, let’s get to the reason you’re here—the reviews:
Red Raspberry Leaf
During Pregnancy, Preparing for Labor, or Menstruation
I discovered the Red Raspberry Leaf Tea during my first pregnancy, and I can tell you without a doubt – this is an herbal tea you should know about! It is packed with natural nutrition and is also your best friend when it comes to womb wellness! Red raspberry leaves are high in many nutrients and beneficial to both pregnant and non-pregnant women.
When the Red Raspberry Leaf Tea is consumed during pregnancy, it is to increase blood circulation to the uterus and to stimulate the uterine muscles to produce stronger contractions. Thus, the tea should not be consumed during the first trimester but after 32 weeks of pregnancy. I use it for menstrual cramps, as well. Now, I barely even feel the cramps during PMS.
This Raspberry Tea has a subtle flavor, and like all Earth Mama products the tea is 100% organic (and of course caffeine free). Its made from organic red raspberry leaves , formulated by a nurse and herbalist and packed in separate tea bags ready to use.
Herbal Perineal Spray
During Pregnancy and Postpartum Healing
This Spray has a cooling peppermint effect. It’s great to use during that post-birth bathroom trip and helps ease the pain from tearing during childbirth. But it doesn’t end there! You can use this spray on your child’s diaper rash, too. Spray it on before you apply the ointment and your child will receive the royal treatment. When it comes to a product that helps both baby and momma, this is it.
Pro mom tip: store it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect.
Organic Herbal Sitz Bath
Postpartum Must-Have
This Herbal Sitz Bath is a must-have for new moms. You can use it as a sitz bath and soak your sore lady parts or you can put it in the freezer to make “padsicles”. If you decide to take a full-sized bath, you’ll be using about three of them, but it sure knows how to make you feel soothed in the places that were aching before.
Let me tell you, I was miserable before using this. Every time I peed, it burned. When I sneezed, I could almost feel the stitches coming out. It was a terrible experience. I saw a post online about this product and decided to try it, and I fell in love. It soothed my pain in a way I didn’t think possible, and helped to heal my stitches. This product gets two thumbs up.
Organic Nipple Butter
Breastfeeding Bliss
This Product Saved My Life — and My Nipples. It’s a soothing, calming cream that aids with the pain of cracked nipples from breastfeeding. The best part? It’s safe to digest. Meaning, you can use it and feed your baby at the same time. Heck, I’ve used this for chapped lips and it was better than any other chapstick on the market.
I had originally used Lanolin, a gift from a friend at the baby shower who swore up and down it was the best. Unfortunately, my nipples didn’t agree. They cried out in pain every time the baby was ready for more food. I figured, if the Earth Mama sitz bath worked, then maybe this would, too. And I was 100% right, because this product is amazing.
Diaper Cream
The Best Baby Care for The Booty
This Diaper Cream is the bomb (or should I say balm). It’s the kind of cream that the baby loves as much as the mom. It’s just that good. The organic ingredients leave your baby’s bum rash-free. And it’s safe to use with cloth diapers or disposable diapers. Before using this product, I was a strong advocate for Boudreaux’s Butt Paste. But after using Earth Mama’s organic diaper balm, I’ll never use another balm again.
Final Thoughts
The list of mom-to-be necessities can go on and on. Take it from a fellow mom and test one of Earth Mama products yourself, and see how they can significantly enhance your day-to-day life!
I hope you find my list helpful, and please feel free to pass it along to any pregnant women you might know!
